We Just Won The Most Prestigious Business Award You Can Get Because We’re Making A Real Difference

A Note From Our Founder Nikki Porcher

Nikki Porcher holding Gold Stevie Award for Organization of the Year

We’re proud to announce that Buy From A Black Woman has been named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Organization of The Year category at the 20th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards is the most prestigious business awards program in the world, and we were selected out of more than 1,600 entries from 26 countries.

From the beginning I knew that I was going to dedicate this award to Black Women everywhere because we often go unrecognized despite our hard work and the obvious impact that we’re having on our environments. So I was proud to accept the Gold Stevie® Award on behalf of all Black Women Business Owners and I’ll continue to open doors for Black Women everywhere I go.

Our work is making a difference

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business recognized us because we’ve helped Black Women Business Owners drive $2.7 Million+ in revenue over the last 12 months, which has enabled many of them to expand their businesses, become full-time entrepreneurs and even scale their businesses to six-figure companies.

We’ve built the highest-ranking online directory of Black Women-Owned Brands in the world and it’s revolutionizing the retail industry by providing a platform that amplifies the visibility and accessibility of 600+ Black Women Business Owners by placing them in front of 4,000 consumers a month. Our directory addresses systemic inequalities and promotes economic empowerment, while also fostering community, advocating for diversity and inclusion, and encouraging social impact.

Some of our other advocacy efforts include:

  • Bringing almost 700 people together to celebrate and buy from Black Women in 14 states across the country and Canada

  • Hosting 160+ workshops and trainings

  • Earning 130+ media mentions on major platforms like Forbes, The New York Times and Essence

  • Putting 80+ Black Women-Owned brands on H&M shelves across the country

  • Celebrating 70 Black Women at the Buy From A Black Woman Business Awards, which brought $70,000 to the local Business Market in Orlando, FL.

  • Awarding 45 business grants

  • Helping 33 Black women elevate their businesses through accelerator programs

  • Supporting 24 business owners through hardship with a Relief Fund stipend

  • Highlighting 24 inspiring founders through our Living Examples docuseries

  • Helping 16 founders get their Minority Business Enterprise certification

  • Collaborating with five brands to produce limited edition products

  • Conducting three independent research studies to investigate the true needs of Black Women Entrepreneurs

We’re reshaping the narrative around Black businesses

The impact that we’re having as a result of our programming is reshaping the narrative around Black businesses and how to support them in a meaningful and sustainable way, while also inspiring future generations and aspiring Black entrepreneurs. So join us, become a part of the movement. Because because when you support a Black Woman Business Owner, you support a whole community.
