2020 was a year of growth, clarity and community.
We are grateful to have you as part of the Buy From a Black Woman Community.
Let’s take a look back at some things that help define Buy From a Black Woman
this year.
Here are 10 of our favorite moments.
Who knew our last in person event, would be our last in person event for the year? This year’s Sister Social Sunday was the prefect way (if there is one) to take on the being shut in…knowing there is a community of Black Women Business Owners you can connect with.
This summer we wanted to ensure Black Women were seen, protected, supported, respected and elevated. So, we got a billboard in Atlanta, Georgia for Black Women.
Nobody has Black Women like Buy From a Black Woman. Through our Black Woman Relief Fund, we awarded $24,000 to 24 Black Women Business Owners who were impacted by COVID-19.
Did you see the Buy from a Black Woman Awards? This year awards were hosted by Comedian and Actress Chanel Ali and was our event of the year. If you missed it, you can catch the replay here.
Buy from a Black Woman Awareness Month was a standout this month! Our founder hosted a podcast every day introducing you to Black Women Business Owners, AND the #BuyFromABlackWoman Hashtag was used in over 120.2k post from November 1-31!
Every year we say this is the biggest grant season ever. This year is no different. With over 1,700 applications, we awarded seven Black Women Business Owners with grants for their businesses. You can read more about those here.
The Idella Scholarship was created to help Black Women Business Owners who are also currently enrolled in a level of higher education that will help grow their business, named after our founder Grandmother, Idella. Learn about this year’s recipients here.
Have you visited the Buy From a Black Woman Online Directory lately? This year we upgraded, changed the layout and added a place for you to read and leave rating and reviews for your favorite Black Women Owned Businesses.
Nikki always says “I am taking Black Women everywhere I go!” and this year was no different. This year you saw Nikki talking about Buy From a Black Woman onnational news, monthly on the Karen Hunter Show, featured in publications like Newsone, in webinars for Azlo Bank, she was also featured international on ArteTv! She was also recently announced one of AMEX 100 Founders for change.
This year was different, but you never stop showing up.
Thank you for supporting and spreading the word about who we are and our mission. This year we have grown and we know it because of the faith and trust you have in our mission and vision.
None of these highlights would be possible without you.
We are grateful for your support.
