Earlier this year Buy From A Black Woman partnered with the Center For Black Entrepreneurship to study the impact of the defunding of DEI and the social justice uprising on Black Women-Owned Businesses. As a part of our research, we surveyed 199 business owners, held round tables with 20 participants and conducted interviews with four Black Women.
Our findings were both striking and deeply concerning, which made our mission to amplify Black Women’s voices so they are not drowned out by the data even more urgent. This documentary, Listen To Black Women: A Black Woman Research Study, is one step towards this goal. It brings our findings to life through the voices of Black Women Entrepreneurs. Because Black Women deserve to be heard, and now more than ever, it is vital that we amplify their voices.
