The Idella Scholarship

Here, at Buy From a Black Woman, we work hard to ensure Black Women have

all the opportunities to do all that they imagine.

While honoring the ones who came before us.

The Idella Scholarship is a scholarship fund for Black Women Business Owners who are also currently enrolled in a level of higher education that will help grow their business.

Idella is first Black Woman Business Owner in our founder’s life, her Grandmother.

Congratulations to these two Black Women are fulfilling their dreams.

We celebrate you.

Cynthia Dees Brooks, The Artisan Pour

In June 2006, Cynthia was introduced to the Black wine community. 12 years later she created The Artisan Pour. The Aristisan Pour educates, promotes and markets Black wine brands through creative and fun experiences. Cynthia is currently enrolled at Sonoma State and plans to complete her Wine Business Management Certificate in 2021.

Adiellah "Adi" Bates,

Aya Donna

Owner, designer, and creator Adiellah “Adi” Bates was raised in Atlanta, GA with an ever-evolving passion for creative expression. Adi was introduced to West African dance as a child then reintroduced as an adult after over a decade of separation. The reintroduction brought a great admiration and appreciation for cultural rhythms, movements, and garments. This inspiration quickly manifested as tangible items that would soon after be called Aya Donna. Adiellah is currently enrolled at Emory University studying Graphic Design.

We want to thank all of the Black Women who applied this year. It was a tough choice with so many amazing Black Women Businesses. We especially want to thank the people over at Poise for partnering with this. We are grateful and thankful for you and your thoughtfulness when it comes to Black Women.
